Workshop #3 was originally planned to be a "pre-session" of the day where we had our final Celebration Luncheon. But, because in between workshop #2 and #3 each faculty participant was required to have a business coaching session with one of the members of our Entrepreneur Instruction team, I could quickly see that we needed a "working curriculum development day". Therefore, I separated out Workshop #3 to be a day of its own just for this and this was THE BEST decision that we could have made to positively change things through the direct course of our program implementation. I actually ended up having two different Workshop #3 days to accomodate schedules and some instructors came to both days...without being asked....just because they wanted to have the designated timeframe, be in the room with their new found friends and seek help from our entrepreneur team as needed. It was really neat to see!
At the end of Workshop #3, the participants made Elevator Pitches (they were taught and prepared for this at the end of Workshop #2) to share their final curriculum plans with each other. From this, we selected 5 (4 of the individual participants and 1 team) to make their presentations LIVE at the Celebration Luncheon.
Because we ended up separating out Workshop #3 from the Celebration Luncheon, another 3 weeks past where our new Fall Quarter also started. This enabled faculty to BEGIN live implementation of their curriuclum plans and therefore have REAL results to report at the lunch!
Because Workshop #3 was open lab time for Curriculum Design, there was no handout created.
