The Veterans Business Outreach Program will offer veterans
the opportunity to access small business assistance for starting a business,
classes to become a veteran certified business for government procurement
opportunities, and credit and non-credit classes offered by the college.
Specific assistance resources are available to veterans
wanting to investigate business ownership as a career. Veteran Business Planning guides are
available to veterans who come in for one on one business counseling. Other resources include Veterans Franchising
Guide, and the Buy Veteran initiative.
The Veterans Business Outreach Program is designed to assist veterans’
access veteran business programs on the local, state, and federal level.
Outreach to veterans has consisted of a "Veterans Business
Outreach Program” press release, and placement of program brochures at
Department of Labor Offices, VA Health Center, Industrial Development Agency,
and the local Chamber of Commerce. We
are also working with JCC on a marketing initiative to rent one to two
billboards showcasing the "Veterans Business Outreach Program.”
The Veteran Business Outreach Program is sponsored in part
by The Gebbie Foundation, The Coleman Foundation, and the New York State Small
Business Development Center.
