"This course is amazing! This is just what I need." - Kourt Williams, Los Angeles City College
"[This] course was the best experience I’ve had with a comprehensive course. I learned so much in this course. I have infused many of my lessons in my teachings and have gotten positive feedback, I have emails to prove it. I have begun my Entrepreneur campaign on campus. I have launched our Entrepreneur club for the students, I have begun dialogue with the foundation, all because of this great 'Take action' course. The ideas and strategies used simply pulls what you already have in you 'Out' and take you to the next level. Thank you for this much needed course." - Laura H. Based on a decade of research and outreach, NACCE's Entrepreneurship Specialist Certificate is the perfect professional development for community college administrators and educators in the classroom. In a relaxed pace (a semester long), you will have the guidance and a process to:
Amp up your faculty to meet the entrepreneurship challenge. Many faculty are more general business faculty and may have lesser exposure to entrepreneurship. This is the cutting edge for adding professional development for Business Departments who want to attract current and prospective entrepreneurs to their program.
It’s time to fight back- Learn to effectually address reduced academic budgets and staff time to support your students.
Administrators- do you and your faculty speak the same language? This course will help facilitate a campus conversation about how to support and grow entrepreneurship on campus and in the community. Take it together- reduced rate for multiple participants from one institution.
As an asynchronous, online course, you can network and take in information on your schedule and still have regular feedback and support from your course instructor and great interactions with other participants.
Course Content Includes:
Entrepreneurship in the Community College
Entrepreneurship Education Unveiled
Supporting Entrepreneurship Students
Entrepreneurs: Myths & Challenges
Funding the Entrepreneurship Agenda
Marketing Your Efforts
Building Support & Staying Relevant
We know finding the funding to attend high-impact, deep-learning events can be a challenge. We recently asked several members how they've leveraged special programs to support their professional development.
Professional development is one of the nine federally required components for Perkins IV Funds. To cite the federal requirements, funds must be set aside to:
provide in-service and pre-service professional development programs to teachers, faculty, administrators, and career guidance and academic counselors who are involved in integrated CTE programs. Topics include effective integration of academics and CTE effective teaching skills based on research, effective practices to improve parental and community involvement, effective use of scientifically based research and data to improve instruction.
Other members have included travel and registration in successfully funded Department of Labor TAACCCT proposals. And have attributed the information they gained at the conference – along with the overwhelming amount of support and guidance from fellow attendees – to their ability to rapidly launch entrepreneurial programming as part of their overall projects.
So sign a team up for the Entrepreneurship Specialist Certificate Online Training this February 2, to May 8, 2015, where you'll have access to cutting-edge information on infusing entrepreneurship into existing programs and aligning your curriculum with industry sectors.
