In May, North Iowa Area Community College held “There’s Something About Grant Writing,” a free workshop on the basic steps nonprofits need to go through to see if grants can be part of their funding resource mix. The event also covered how to go after grants.

Lisa Balduf, owner of Grant$, etc. and a recipient of the nationally recognized Grant Professional Certification, shared her expertise on how to match your organization to appropriate funders and the basic steps to follow in writing a grant. As an added bonus, Balduf provided tips she has gathered from grant professionals around the nation.

Balduf is one of only 170 certified grant professionals in North America. Individuals who receive Grant Professional Certification (GPC) have met a series of standards set by GPC International that includes tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated achievement and a commitment of service to not-for-profit organizations.
