Summer and fall will be busy for the School of Business planning a "Week of the Entrepreneur" September 14 - 17, 2009. The celebration will include the opening of the Business Enterprise Center and culminate with the extreme entrepreneur bus tour. The SIFE chapter will be busy with tours of the campus for local businesses. Tuesday, September 15, a wine and cheese reception will be held in the center for advisory members, the Board of Trustees, faculty and potential investors in the center. A goal of $50,000 has been set along with a potential sponsor for the center.
The goal of the Business Enterprise Center is to give students the opportunities to work with faculty, SCORE, and mentors on their business plans and assistance in potential funding. A Perkins grant will furnish the center with two business start-up cubicles, a fax, scanner, printer combination, and a 47-inch plasma screen for TV, DVD and campus information.
