NACCE Honors Richard Huebner with Lifetime Achievement Award

Springfield, MA, October 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship Honors Community Leader Richard Huebner with Lifetime Achievement Award.
The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), the nation’s leading organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship through community colleges, has announced that Houston area leader Mr. Richard Huebner, president of the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council, is the winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was made at NACCE’s 13th Annual Conference October 11 -14 in Houston, Texas. Huebner was nominated by NACCE Member, Houston Community College.
“The NACCE Lifetime Achievement award is presented to an individual who has achieved entrepreneurial success and played a pivotal role in the community through involvement and support of civic and philanthropic activities,” said Rebecca Corbin, president and CEO of NACCE. “Richard has been a catalyst in the Houston ecosystem, sparking business opportunities and business growth for minority business owners. He is a strong believer in collaboration and has been a great partner to his nominating school, Houston Community College.”
Huebner has made a profound contribution to the Houston small business community and is one of most respected and admired business leaders in the area. Under his leadership and vision, the National Minority Supplier Development Council has recognized the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council six times as “Council of the Year.” The Greater Houston Partnership acknowledged the HMSDC as “Houston’s Greatest Non-Profit Business Organization.”
Huebner leads 157 major corporations and nearly 1,000 Minority Business Enterprises in a common mission to increase and expand business opportunities and business growth for minorities. He has made major contributions to Houston Community College’s Entrepreneurial Initiatives by partnering with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative, the Minority Business Development Agency and many business summits. Huebner also serves on several HCC advisory boards and generously shares his expertise, time and energy.
Huebner also serves on advisory boards for the Port of Houston Authority, Harris County Sherriff’s Office, Small Business Today Magazine, World Chamber of Commerce and the NASA-Johnson Space Center Joint Leadership Team. He currently serves as Immediate Past Chair of Leadership Houston, and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum.
Huebner has received numerous awards, and was named to “Best of the Decade in Supplier & Workforce Diversity” by Minority Business News.
