Overcoming Challenges Part II: Funding

In our NACCE2015 post conference survey we inquired, "What are challenges in entrepreneurship education you'd like to solve in the NACCE community?" Last week in our enews we touched on the effective collaboration between the academic side and other areas of the college to integrate entrepreneurship throughout the institution. This week we wanted to focus on another repeatedly stated challenge which was FUNDING.

Our President & CEO, Dr. Rebecca Corbin, along with South Arkansas Community College's President, Dr. Barbara Jones, and Ocean County College's Assistant Vice President for Continuing Education & Workforce Development, Patricia Fenn, delivered a main stage presentation on "Best Practices in Generating Alternative Revenue On Your Campus". They shared the following takeaways:

  1. FOCUS on cultivating effective relationships
  2. ASSESS internal communication
  3. EVALUATE your workforce strategy
  4. LEVERAGE Foundation and Workforce staff
  5. MODEL best practices entrepreneurship strategies from other states
