Changes in Leadership

In our NACCE2015 post conference survey we asked attendees, "What are challenges in entrepreneurship education you'd like to solve in the NACCE community?" We've addressed two challenges so far:

Today we would like to focus on changes in leadership and how this affects you.

Change Quote

Question #1: Raise your hand if you love change. We are guessing there are only a few brave fingers in the air. For a majority of people, change is scary because it is unknown and can often disrupt our everyday normal routines.

Question #2: How many of you have experienced a change in leadership that negatively affected your program, organization or job? We suspect that there are many more hands raised now. With new leadership comes fresh ideas, original perspectives and disruptions to our schedules. How you adapt to and guide this change can lead to the growth or demise of your program.

We encourage you to listen to this video from LeanStartup.co called, "Get Buy-In to Drive Change: Bringing Lean Startup to Enterprise".

You will learn:

  • How to get people to think problem first, not solution
  • What not to say when you're pushing for change
  • Scrappy ways to settle product (and culture) debates

How do you overcome and thrive during leadership change in your organization? Tell us via Twitter! Make sure you tag @NACCE.
