Long before Chelsi Birgensmith was born 18 years ago, her parents started a college fund.
Gale and Chuck Birgensmith had tucked away $70,000 in the fund, practically assuring their eldest child entry into the post-secondary education of her choice after graduating from Whitefish High School on Saturday. It was a proud accomplishment for Chelsi's hard-working parents, neither of whom had had the advantage of college.
