During 2007 Virginia Western received a grant to develop an entrepreneurship program as part of its Workforce Development Services "Learn Connect” training which provides online training and customized training to local businesses, industries, and government in Virginia. Students completing the entrepreneurship courses through Virginia Western Community College and decide to locate their start-up business within the City of Roanoke’s entrepreneurship district will be eligible for incentives such as grants for additional 558 training, reduced cost for office supplies, legal, and accounting services. In addition the entrepreneur district could potential offer financial backing and shared cost(s) for administrative support for one of more business in a certain area.
