Mason City, IA – July 29, 2009 - Forty-four entrepreneurs from 16 different North Iowa communities recently graduated from FastTrac® NewVenture™. The North Iowa Area Community College John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center runs FastTrac® NewVenture™, a ten-week “business boot camp” designed to help new businesspeople develop their business concept and business plan. As part of the curriculum, FastTrac® NewVenture™ graduates go through all the steps of developing a business plan, including feasibility, marketing, insurance and financing.

The classes were facilitated by certified FastTrac® instructors Richard Petersen and Karen Schmidt as well as the support of guest content experts from the North Iowa business community.
The NIACC JPEC also introduces FastTrac® LaunchPad™, an introductory free two-hour session for those who are interested in FastTrac® but need more information. This new session will explore the challenges of starting a new business and what to expect from FastTrac® NewVenture™. There will be two sessions in Charles City on August 6, one session at 2 p.m. and another session at 6 p.m. They will be held in room 110 at the Charles City NIACC Center.
