Through Entrepreneurship Education”
SPRINGFIELD, MA – August 4, 2009 – The National Association
for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) will hold its third Symposium
for Community College Entrepreneurship Educators (S-CCEE #3) October 11, 2009,
in Chicago, Illinois. This annual event for faculty at community colleges is
designed to highlight innovative ways in which to teach entrepreneurship in
both the credit and credit free arenas. This year’s Symposium is being held in
conjunction with NACCE’s annual conference, which runs from October 11-14,
2009.
“This event provides a forum for entrepreneurship faculty to
network and an opportunity for them to acquire new tools to educate and inspire
the next generation of entrepreneurs,” says NACCE Executive Director, Heather
Van Sickle. “Our first two symposia have been extremely productive for
attendees. For example, the first symposium resulted in the formation of a
partnership between community colleges in the U.S. and England that is working
to develop a business studies degree that gives community college students an
opportunity to experience how businesses operate in different cultures.”
The theme of S-CCEE #3 is “Sharing Best Practices: Creating
Pathways Through Entrepreneurship Education.” The day’s agenda will include an
interactive, hands-on presentation by Tina Sterling of TC Strategies, Inc. and
Donna Duffey of Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS. They
will share a “how-to” tool for community colleges to begin to implement and to
grow entrepreneurship initiatives. The content, which provides a nine-step
approach, is based on years of experience working with and for higher education
throughout the country to develop entrepreneurship initiatives.
Registration is available via the NACCE Web site at
www.nacce.com or call 413-306-3131 with questions. The cost for NACCE members
and non members is $75.
