RALEIGH, NC – Tough economic times create upheaval. And upheaval stimulates innovation – and entrepreneurship. Since the winter of 2008, Wake Technical Community College has trained more than 300 potential entrepreneurs in its business planning course called, Planning the Entrepreneurial Venture.
According to Fred Gebarowski, Wake Tech’s Director of Entrepreneurship, "Participants in this course, developed by the Kauffman Foundation, include folks who have recently lost their jobs and are finally acting on that dormant business idea. Others, who may still be employed, are looking to ramp up a fledgling side business in case they do lose their jobs.”
