Congratulations to Sherry Tshibangu 2010 NISOD Award Winner! Sherry Tshibangu, Assistant Professor Business Administration /Economics has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to Monroe Community College with the prestigious National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Award (NISOD). This award recognizes educators at institutions of higher education for their teaching and leadership excellence. Professor Tshibangu has consistently and passionately gone beyond her job requirements to make Monroe Community College a better place in which to learn and to work.
Most notably, in the classroom she has creatively connected students to the community through service learning projects.
She successfully launched the Colleges Emerging Entrepreneurs Scholarship Program in July 2008 and served as the director until November 2009. In this role, she also mentored several aspiring entrepreneurs. Professor Tshibangu demonstrated outstanding leadership in helping to establish and launch Pathways to Entrepreneurial Success: a community resource forum for aspiring entrepreneurs; hosted by the college on November 12, 2009. Four hundred participants attended the forum. Sherry will be honored at the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence on May 30-June 2, 2010 in Austin, Texas.
