June 24, 2010, Blue Bell, Pa.—Montgomery County Community College is currently seeking proposals for
papers, hands-on labs and roundtables for its 16th Annual Technology and
Learning Conference. The conference will take place on Friday, Oct. 1 from 8
a.m.-3 p.m. at the College’s Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, in Blue Bell,
PA.
The Teaching and Learning Conference provides a forum for
participants to share state-of-the-art information technologies, to contribute
to a vision of the future of information technology in the academic enterprise,
and to exchange ideas and best practices for incorporating technology, security
and learning.
The theme for the 2010 conference is "New Horizons.”
Participants can choose to follow topic threads in the areas of teaching and
learning, student success and support services, security and identity
management, library, emerging technology and e-Learning.
The conference will begin with a keynote address from Alfred
Thompson, who is the K-12 Computer Science Academic Relations Manager for
Microsoft. Corinne L. Hoisington, a full-time Professor of Information Systems
Technology at Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg, Va., will
provide a second keynote address during lunch.
The cost of attending the conference is $80 for
registrations received by Sept. 20 and $100 for those received after that date.
The cost includes all conference materials, parking, continental breakfast and
