Starting and running a successful business, like teaching, isn't complicated — it's just hard, says Craig Lindvahl of Effingham who will discuss entrepreneurship at Illinois Valley Community College at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in Room C-325.
The public is welcome free of charge.
"If you have the right guiding principles in place, decisions are much easier," Lindvahl said. "It's good to be odd. Entrepreneurship is not generally about business acumen. It's about how you view the world around you."
Lindvahl, executive director of the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship, said in small business almost every problem can be traced to one of two sources: "communication problems, or the failure of someone to do what they say they'll do."
