Bunker Hill Community CollegeProfessorTony Fonteshas been invited to present the College's first student-run, sustainable business at the 9th annual conference of The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE). Fontes is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration and advisor to the student Entrepreneurship Club. The conference will be heldOctober 9-12th, 2011, inPortland, Oregon.
NACCE is dedicated to helping community colleges gain new ideas, strategies and tactics that can be useful in developing their entrepreneurship programs. The annual conference brings together community college professionals and successful entrepreneurs to discuss entrepreneurship education as well as local business development initiatives.
The presentation Fontes will give, "Entrepreneurship and Sustainability: Creating a Profitable and Green Student-Run Business," is part of a special extended breakout session at the conference. Fontes will showcase the business plan he developed with BHCC students for a mobile kiosk stocking eco-friendly clothing and merchandise with the College logo. The kiosk will open on campus in Fall 2011.
