TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS TO HOST REGIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION SUMMITS
$40,000 in Funding Available for
8 Summits in 2013: Proposals Due December 14
Springfield,
MA – November 12, 2012 – As part of its celebration of Global
Entrepreneurship Week, the National Association for
Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE)
announced today that it is requesting proposals from community colleges to host
regional NACCE Summits in 2013 centered on the topic of entrepreneurship
education. These NACCE-sponsored, one-day training sessions will seek to bring
together key stakeholders who are essential in building a sustainable,
high-impact entrepreneurship program at a community college and the area it
serves. NACCE is the nation’s leading organization focused on promoting
entrepreneurship through community colleges.
Proposals in
response to the NACCE Summit RFP available at http://www.nacce.com/?page=newfunding must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on
December 14, 2012, to be considered.
"The NACCE
Summits will extend the learning and networking opportunities that NACCE
members have long enjoyed at our annual conference,” said NACCE Executive
Director Heather Van Sickle. "Thanks to $40,000 in funding generously provided by
our partners,
Sam’s Club®
and the Coleman
Foundation, we will be able to hold up to eight
NACCE Summits in 2013. Each selected college will receive a minimum of $3,500
to organize and host the event. NACCE will also provide key support such as speakers,
content and online registration. Colleges can also join together regionally to
make a proposal to host one of these events.”
"All applying colleges must have
demonstrated their leadership in entrepreneurship education by being organizational
members of NACCE and by the college president having signed onto the
commitments of our Presidents for
Entrepreneurship Forum,” said Van Sickle. The NACCE membership and
presidential sign-on must be in place by the end of Global Entrepreneurship
Week on November 16, 2012. These requirements will also be in place in future
years for the NACCE Summit program, so colleges that are interested in
participating in this program beyond 2013 are encouraged to become members of
NACCE and the Presidents for Entrepreneurship Forum now.”
