NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE ENTREPRENEURSHIP NAMES NACCE LEADERSHIP FELLOWS

SPRINGFIELD, MA – April 23, 2013 -- The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), the nation’s leading organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship through community colleges, has named two additional educators to its 2013 roster of NACCE Fellows.

Joining the four NACCE fellows named in January are Syracuse University’s Entrepreneur in Residence John Liddy and Doan Winkel, an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Quantitative Methods at Illinois State University. Their one-year fellowships will include providing leadership development training at six regional NACCE Summits and the annual NACCE conference, as well as conducting research on the topic of entrepreneurial leadership.

"John Liddy and Doan Winkel are great additions to the NACCE Fellows team,” said NACCE Executive Director Heather Van Sickle. "They both have shown tremendous leadership skills in the field of entrepreneurship education. John created the Student Sandbox at Syracuse University; this 12-week program leads students through business creation and is now being adopted by other institutions. Doan Winkel created The Entrepreneurship Education Project, a forum of nearly 400 educators from over 70 countries who are collaboratively learning how to create and deliver entrepreneurship education. We’re certain John and Doan can inspire NACCE members to become leaders of entrepreneurship in their own communities.”

The NACCE Fellows Program is designed to benefit members across the country by increasing their access to research and education that will help them support and grow entrepreneurship in their communities. Fellows were previously named in the areas of community outreach and curriculum and training. Funding for the 2013 NACCE Fellows program has been provided by the Coleman Foundation, a long-standing partner of NACCE.
