SPRINGFIELD, MA – April 22, 2014 -- The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship will host its 12th annual national conference October 12-15 in Phoenix. The theme of NACCE2014 is “Entrepreneurship: From Mindset to Meaningful Action.” “This highlights the growing culture of entrepreneurship among the nation’s community colleges, which is leading to innovative programs and curricula as well as new solutions to local economic challenges,” says NACCE President and CEO Heather Van Sickle.

The conference, which is expected to draw some 500 community college presidents, administrators, faculty, entrepreneurship center directors and workforce directors, will take place at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa. The resort is situated on the doorstep of 17,000 acres of South Mountain Preserve, the world’s largest municipal park and the most visited hiking destination in Arizona. Super-Early-Bird registration, which is offering the same pricing as last year’s conference, is now open for the conference with discounts available through July 18, 2014.

Conference Tracks

“Our conference will have over 50 learning sessions and workshops that will highlight the amazing work being done at community college across the country to support the entrepreneurial aspirations of the people they serve,” says Van Sickle. “We are delighted to be in Phoenix for this year’s conference. Community colleges across Arizona have many best practices that we will be able to showcase.”

• Using an Entrepreneurial Mindset to Lead a Community College (Presidents Track)

About NACCE

The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) is an organization of presidents, administrators, educators, center directors and entrepreneurs, focused on inciting entrepreneurship in their community and on their campus. NACCE has two main goals: 1. Empower the college to approach the business of running a community college with an entrepreneurial mindset, and 2. Grow the community college’s role in supporting job creation and entrepreneurs in their local ecosystem.

Founded in 2002, NACCE is at the heart of the "entrepreneurship movement.” Through membership, an annual conference and exhibition, regional summits, a quarterly journal, monthly webinars, a dynamic list-serv, and training resources, NACCE serves as the hub for the dissemination and integration of knowledge and successful practices regarding entrepreneurial leadership, entrepreneurship education and student business incubation. These initiatives and resulting actions advance economic prosperity in the communities served by its member colleges. NACCE is a founding member of the White House-led Startup America Partnership.
