Student Entrepreneur Business Showcase—CASH Prizes
Do you know a student with an innovative business idea or an existing small business? The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) is looking for students to demonstrate the benefits of a community college education and represent their college at NACCE2012 (www.nacce2012.com), NACCE’s 10th Anniversary Conference.
We have two exciting opportunities for our students:
- Student-Entrepreneur Business Showcase
- 3 CASH PRIZES Totaling $1000
On Tuesday, October 8, 2012 at 9:45am, students will present their ideas to NACCE conference attendees, answer questions, and visualize their business on a poster or other display materials. Attendees will be given play money to "invest” in the business of their choice(s).
The 3 students who capture the most investment money will be recognized and presented with
That’s a total of $1000 (real money!).
Awards will be given out during the luncheon on Tuesday between 12:30pm and 2:00pm.
Expectations are as follows:
- Students prepare & practice an elevator pitch describing their business (30-60 seconds)
- Use signage to visualize and demonstrate the business
- Bring a laptop with a PowerPoint on their business, using photos and graphics
- Bring samples, testimonials and other tangible ways of showing off their business idea
Students must complete a brief application form below and obtain faculty recommendation. Applications without faculty recommendations will not be considered.
Deadline to nominate a student is Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at noon.
Student demonstrations will take place on Tuesday, October 8th from 9:45am to 11:30am at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Chicago area (Rosemont), Illinois.
