NACCE Launches Partnership with UpliftNow
The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) has launched a partnership with North Carolina-based company UpliftNow that will benefit NACCE members and the national community college ecosystem. UpliftNow provides a digital barter/trade platform designed to enable entrepreneurial individuals and businesses to access and capitalize on surplus goods, skills and services, therefore creating savings and growth.
“As COVID-19 continues to impact the nation, it is more important than ever for entrepreneurs and businesses to innovate, pivot, and leverage new ways to access resources to remain sustainable and profitable. The barter system is a proven and effective way for entrepreneurs to share their skills, services, and goods with others who can effectively do the same, creating a sustainable network of support that is not cash-dependent,” said Rebecca Corbin, NACCE president and CEO.
UpliftNow kicked off their partnership in late June with an informational webinar titled “It’s Smarter to Barter – How Innovative Commerce Communities are Building Capacity in the New Economy” and is working to develop coursework surrounding the barter system for NACCE members and guests that will be made available via the NACCE Institute early fall 2020.
“We are honored to partner with NACCE and become part of the fabric of their impact among member colleges throughout the entrepreneurial ecosystem nationally. UpliftNow is excited to engage with project lead Jeff Smith and the team at NACCE. The mission at UpliftNow is in complete harmony with the vision, philosophy, and mission of NACCE. It is a natural partnership, which we are confident will be a game-changer as we strive to do our part in uplifting the nation’s economy. Through this innovative partnership, NACCE and UpliftNow will work together to encourage the NACCE member network and the entrepreneurs that we reach to leverage the barter system for success – creating synergy within communities, empowering entrepreneurship, creating job opportunities, and supporting nonprofits and educational institutions across the nation,” remarked UpliftNow CEO & Co-Founder Tony Holden.
UpliftNow President and Co-Founder Trish Holden is equally as excited to partner with NACCE. “UpliftNow provides a creative solution to compliment and stimulate economic growth by enticing entrepreneurial communities to think creatively! Inclusive for all individuals, business, and organizations, UpliftNow’s platform converts the excess of goods or capacity, or untapped talents and skills into tangible resources – without cash! Thanks to the NACCE team and member community for their progressive and creative support of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
