The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is pleased to announce new Commission leadership for the upcoming year, along with the election of four new Commissioners who will join the Commission as we continue to advance student-centered, modern accreditation.

“Each year, we see tremendous interest from professionals who want to serve our Commission, and this year was no exception,” said Commission President Heather F. Perfetti. “Our Commissioners are instrumental in supporting our commitment to being Future Forward, keeping us responsive and forward-thinking on the evolving needs of our higher education community for the institutions and students we serve.”

2027 Commission Executive Committee and Corporate Officers 

In the coming year, Havidán Rodríguez will serve as Chair of the Commission, bringing years of Executive Committee experience, including his service as Vice-Chair in 2026. Havidán has served the Commission since 2020. Joining him is Jonathan Peri, who will serve as Vice-Chair of the Commission in his first term on the Executive Committee. Jonathan offers a wealth of knowledge having served the Commission since 2019, including years of Committee on Follow-Up Activities leadership. The Commission also welcomes Kimberly Davenport and Linh Hoang as new additions to the Executive Committee.

The Commission’s 2027 Executive Committee members and corporate officers are as follows:

New Commissioners 

For the January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2031, term, the Commission elected Mushtaq Gunja, Executive Director of the Carnegie Classification systems and Senior Vice President at the American Council on Education (ACE), in the role of Academic Representative; Mildred Mihlon, President of Felician University (NJ), in the role of Administrative Representative; Rebecca Corbin, President and CEO of the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), in the role of Public Representative; and J.D. LaRock, President and CEO of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), in the role of Public Representative.
